Port of Allyn Opens New Moorage Facility

It was a great day for the Port of Allyn as it cut the ribbon on its new transient moorage facility. The ribbon cutting was a fun community event that was the culmination of almost two years of work to upgrade the existing dock to a full-service facility capable of handling boats up to 50 feet. Oyster House Restoration Receives Legislative Funding

The Port of Allyn’s Sargent Oyster House historic restoration project has received a double dose of funding from the Washington State Legislature. The Port — which owns the historic building — had requested $712,000 for the full restoration of the building. But on the advice of Gordon Thomas Honeywell Government Affairs (GTHGA) — the lobbying firm the Port had hired to help secure funding — that ask was reduced to an amount that could fund what work could be actually accomplished between now and the next budget appropriation. Lakeland Drive Sidewalk Project Proceeding

It’s been a busy few weeks here at the Port. In addition to the pay station kiosk project, we are also finishing up the Lakeland Drive Sidewalk Project. Today they are paving the driveway entrances the sidewalk crosses. Most of the topsoil is also down, and will be hydroseeded and landscaped probably next week.
